Opera is currently based on code taken from both the Chrome and Chromium projects.
Compared to the Firefox Web browser, currently offers superior support for HiDPI and touchscreen displays.
Verify the currently installed software version via the command-line interface:
opera --version || opera-beta --version

Binary code distribution installation
- Install the latest available versions of e2fsprogs, freetype, grep, pixman, tar, wget and lzip
- Install the latest available versions of dhcpcd and openssl
- Verify that sufficient partition space [package size + extracted package size = total size required] is available for installation:
- Download the software package, which includes PepperFlash
- Install the package:
tar xfv opera*.tar.lz && cd opera*vd && ./AppRun
